In addition to our decorative paint services Evie's Easel may be able to help in other decorative areas.  For example, transforming cabinets from dark to a lighter antiqued coloration, adding crown moulding to a room or rooms, enhancing an otherwise undecorated bathroom mirror with custom picture moulding, replacing light fixtures to update rooms, etc.   For example, Home 'A':

 This bathroom was textured in
 dated "crow's foot" and
 painted standard white.

   The transformation: knock down the
old "crow's foot",  apply a new
slip-drag texture to the walls and
ceiling and repaint the room in a new
color complimentary to the tile and
  shower curtain.
  We then installed crown moulding,
  painted and antiqued the moulding.
We also installed new towel bars
and light fixture for this client.

This client further wanted her Master Bathroom woodwork and  cabinetry painted and antiqued.
The picture at right is before.

Pictured at left is the same
 cabinet refinished.  We also refinished
 her baseboards, doors and trim
moulding, and replaced her towel bar
 towel hooks she provided.

All our projects are laborious but interesting. Once in awhile, one comes along that is FUN in addition to unique!

These clients live in a beautiful home with ultra-modern furnishings in black, red, white and chrome. They wanted a look for their home complimentary to their furniture style.

While discussing their wish for a new look they focused on a piece of artwork in their living room (at right).

They especially liked the portions in red at bottom and the silver/gray/black at the top. This top portion has a underlying combed textured.

The red portion they wanted translated in their powder room which was then a basic white with a white pedestal sink.

We took our cue from their artwork and created the art in the powder room as shown at right and the two pictures below. Cam also removed the white pedestal sink and installed a new cabinet with a glass bowl sink and single stem faucet the clients had purchased for this room.

What a fun change!

Second on the agenda was the foyer tray ceiling. It was white, with white crown moulding, and a white lower tray.
Again, referring to their artwork, we applied a combed texture to the upper tray and basecoated with a gloss black. We then applied a metallic silver faux to over the black, followed by a gray glaze and finally a white glaze.
The lower portion was painted Metallic Silver.

Third, their Dining Room. They have exquisitely beautiful furniture with both table and sideboard of thick teak and quilted maple with a heavy lacquer finish. What we chose was to paint the upper tray ceiling a darker brown and the lower ceiling a lighter golden brown.
The walls, however, were basecoated a soft butter. We hand applied a streak glaze to the some (not all) of the raised scallop texture. The portion below the chair rail was fully glazed.
In this way the table and sideboard were not swallowed up by the glaze; the upper portion serves only as a background for the furniture and the lower portion beautifully enhances the colors.

Finally, we addressed the kitchen/breakfast nook. For the most part, these areas were straight painted without faux or artwork. The kitchen proper was painted the same color as the basecoat in the dining room for flow. The breakfast nook was painted a fabulous red as in the powder room.
The difference was the island. It was painted red, but then we again took our cue from an area rug in her deen to creat an artform in black with white surround.

Ideas are limitless.  Just give us a hint and let us run with the ball!
